PostcardMania CEO, Joy Gendusa, says Earth Day is every day at her company. Despite absorbing the higher costs of using environmentally-friendlier paper each year ($50K in 2005, $65K in 2006; $85K in 2007), Gendusa ensured her customers would reap the benefits of company’s environmental conscience by not raising her pricing structure. In fact, she recently announced her decision to slash her prices to help her customers advertise more during the current economic slump.
PostcardMania’s recycled paper is made with 10% post-consumer waste and is chlorine free. The company has saved an estimated 7,000+ fully-grown trees since they started printing on the recycled paper stock in 2005. Gendusa says the paper actually makes the end product look better due to the fact that it holds the ink more effectively.
PostcardMania Execs agree with Gendusa and say despite higher costs, saving trees is a must.
“We have to take care of our planet. Period.” Gendusa said. “It’s the only one we have, and it’s our job to ensure it survives.”
PostcardMania continues to research the “green” landscape scouting for more environmentally-friendly products it can offer.
