Star Jones, the former co-host of The View, has filed for divorce from husband Al Reynolds, according to a report by "Entertainment Tonight".
Jones filed for divorce on March 26 as the divorce was labeled an "Uncontested Matrimonial" case by New York Supreme Court in Manhattan and the records were sealed.
Prior to the engagement, there were a bevy of rumors that claims that Reynolds was gay. The gay rumors continued after the wedding, but it was not determined if the rumors were the reason for the divorce nor if Reynolds is indeed gay.
Jones, 46, and Reynolds, 39, a banker, were married in 2004 in a lavish wedding in which supplies and services were donated by corporate "sponsors" in return for publicity. Tabloid newspapers referred to her as "Bridezilla" due to the highly-publicized wedding.
Jones was a co-host the popular daytime talk show The View for nearly 10 years before being fired in 2006. She received criticism for constantly discussing the wedding and plugging its sponsors while on the show.
The negative reaction to the ordeal, which was attended by guests ranging from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to Spike Lee, was cited by Barbara Walters as a reason why Jones' contract wasn't renewed by ABC's The View in 2006.
In Wednesday's statement to "Entertainment Tonight," Jones said she "made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life."
"The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts," Jones said in the statement. "I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."
Of late, photos of Jones with Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade have appeared online, sparking unconfirmed rumors of an affair. Wade is currently separated from his wife Siovaughn, whom he married in 2002.
