An Atlanta mother and daughter have been arrested and are now being charged for the beating of a teacher at Southside High School.
The attack occurred on Feb. 28 while Felecia Williams was in the middle of teaching a class. According to reports Georgia Thornton entered the classroom with her 17-year-old daughter Sequita Thornton and began arguing about a book.
Georgia Thornton then grabbed a book off Williams’ desk and when she tried to get the book back Thornton knocked her to the ground. At that point Sequita joined her mother in stomping on Williams.
Williams told police she had previously met with Georgia Thornton to discuss her daughter’s grades and attendance.
Georgia Thornton has been charged with battery on a school teacher, disrupting public schools, criminal trespass and theft by taking. The daughter is being charged with battery on a teacher and disrupting public schools. Sequita has been permanently expelled.
