Individualized drug addiction treatment the standard of care for most drug rehabs
Drug rehabs offer individualized drug addiction treatment as standard for drug rehab treatment
When drug rehabs began offering addiction treatment for substance abusers, the modalities offered were, by and large, the accepted norms then being used. Throughout the years, however, drug rehabs began realizing that their current methods of treatment needed to be changed.
Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center, founded in 1998, introduced its program which included evidence-based treatment and individualized drug addiction treatment options.
“Every individual entering drug rehab presents a unique set of challenges simply because no two people are alike and neither are their backgrounds,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside. “While substance abusers share some of the same characteristics, it’s detrimental to the individual to assume that he or she needs the same treatment modalities as the person who enters treatment before them or the person who enters treatment after them. A proper evaluation by a team of experts and professionals is critical to assessing the needs of each individual. At Mountainside, as part of our intake, each client is evaluated by our team of licensed, certified and credentialed professionals, each giving recommendations depending on their area of expertise.. During the evaluation we look for key factors of an individual’s personality that will help us determine the best course of treatment that will result in the greatest success for him or her. Upon completion of the intake evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is created for that person. The individual is encouraged to become actively engaged in both the creation of their treatment plan and then in their ongoing treatment. It’s our experience that individuals who are actively engaged will benefit greatly and are more apt to successfully complete their prescribed plan and, thus, have a greater chance at long-term successful sobriety.”
For more than 12 years, Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center has led the way in offering an individualized alcohol and drug addiction treatment program.

The program won national attention and resulted in Mountainside being invited to Washington to meet with the White House Drug Czar, John P. Walters, who wanted to learn more about the innovative program offered at Mountainside.
In addition to its licensed and certified counselors and social workers, Mountainside provides medical services through an on-staff Nurse Practitioner and a Registered Nurse with specializations in drug addiction and alcohol treatment. Psychiatric services are available when needed.
