Shots Fired at 2 Schools in Omaha; Student Injured

Omaha police say an eighth-grader was shot and wounded during a middle school soccer game Thursday.

Police reports indicate officers are also responding to shots fired at an elementary school located a mile away from the first shooting.

According to police spokeswoman Darci Tierney, a middle school boy was shot in the mouth at King Science and Technology Magnet School. Tierney reported the boy’s injuries are not life threatening.

It’s unclear how many shots were fired or where they came from. Police are seeking a suspect in the two shootings.

After a brief lockdown at King, parents were allowed to pick up their children.
