Crosstex Energy, L.P. is (the Partnership) is an independent midstream energy company engaged in the gathering, transmission, treating, processing and marketing of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The Partnership connects the wells of natural gas producers in its market areas to its gathering systems, treats natural gas to remove impurities, processes natural gas for the removal of NGLs, fractionates NGLs into purity products and markets those products for a fee, transports natural gas and provides it to a variety of markets.
The Company has two operating segments: Midstream and Treating. The Midstream division focuses on gathering, processing, transmission and marketing of natural gas and NGLs. The Treating division focuses on the removal of impurities from natural gas. The Partnership’s primary Midstream assets include approximately 5,000 miles of natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines, 12 natural gas processing plants and four fractionators.
