Summer Camp Enrollment In High Gear

Summer camp registration is in high gear at SuperCamp’s eight U.S. academic summer camps. Enrollments are ahead of last year’s record pace, according to SuperCamp president, Bobbi DePorter.

As Ms. DePorter pointed out during her interview on FOX News in San Diego this week, SuperCamp’s track record over 27 years of helping middle school and high school students improve their grades and increase their confidence and motivation is the biggest reason for the summer program’s success.

Ms. DePorter is encouraging all parents who are looking into summer enrichment programs for their children this year to contact SuperCamp soon, as many of the summer camp’s sessions are close to capacity. Last year, over 200 kids remained on SuperCamp’s waiting list at the start of summer. Consequently, they were unable to attend the program and missed out on a great time and great learning.

“Parents and graduates are always telling us how the students’ grades have improved in the school year following them attending SuperCamp,” says Ms. DePorter. “These comments are supported by independent studies, one of which showed that 73 percent of grads increased their grades.”

The study also reported that over 80 percent of SuperCamp graduates increased their confidence and self-esteem. Ms. DePorter attributes this number to the mini-successes that SuperCamp facilitators orchestrate throughout the 7-, 8- and 10-day camps for all campers.

Based on accelerated learning methods that Ms. DePorter first applied with entrepreneurs almost 30 years ago, SuperCamp is an intensive residential summer program that has graduated over 48,000 students worldwide in its 26 years. In addition, DePorter’s company trains teachers in these same learning techniques in schools throughout the United States. These school programs have positively impacted over two million students.

SuperCamp will be held at eight U.S. college campuses this summer, from Stanford University in the west to Cornell in the east. Other locations include, Pitzer College (one of The Claremont Colleges in the Los Angeles area), Cal State San Marcos in north San Diego County, Colorado College in Colorado Springs, the University of Washington in Seattle, Wake Forest University and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

SuperCamp offers four grade-specific programs: the 10-day Junior Forum for students entering grades 6-8 in the fall, the 10-day Senior Forum for students entering grades 9-12, the 7-day Youth Forum for kids entering grades 4-5 and Quantum U for incoming college students.
