Teen Genius Alia Sabur Named World’s Youngest Professor

A 19-year-old girl has been named the world’s youngest college professor by the Guinness Books of World Records. Alia Sabur broke the 1717 record set by a student of physicist Isaac Newton, Colin Maclaurin. At age 10 she went to Stony Brook University and at 11 she was playing with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra.

Sabur was 14 when she earned her bachelors degree and was 18 when she was hired as a professor in the Department of Advanced Technology Fusion at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea.

“It’s really a great honor to be in the company of such great scientists,” Sabur said.
