Rev. Jeremiah Wright To Address Remarks He Claims Were Taken Out of Context

Reverend Jeremiah Wright will address comments he claims were taken out of context in an interview to be aired Friday night on U.S. public television.

The U.S. presidential campaign of Democrat Barack Obama felt the backlash after remarks by Wright, his former pastor, denounced the United States.

Wright, the recently retired pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chicago, came under fire for his sermons in which he says America brought the 9/11 terrorist attacks on itself  and is “damned” for its history of racism and slavery.

Wright claims the remarks have been used unfairly for the sole purpose of damaging Obama’s campaign and portray him as “some sort of a fanatic.”
