David Rockefeller Donate $100 Million to Harvard University

Harvard University announced on Friday that they received a $100 donation from philanthropist David Rockefeller, the largest donation ever made by an alumnus in the school’s history.

The donation was made for Harvard’s undergraduate program and targeted the school’s student travel and study abroad programs as well as arts education. Harvard noted that about 70 percent of the donation would be used for the travel programs while the remaining would be used to enrich their arts program.

Rockefeller graduated from Harvard University’s undergraduate program in 1936.

The 92-year-old Rockefeller is the last surviving grandchild of oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller and has an estimated net worth of $2.7 billion according to Forbes magazine.
