Virginia Hit by Tornados, at least One Dead, 200 Injured

Severe storms hit central and southeast Virginia on Monday leaving at least one person dead and 200 injured.

 

The storms destroyed buildings and homes as well as knocked out power as it swept through several cities in the Old Dominion State. Reports indicated that two tornados were spotted touching down in Suffolk, the city in which the one death has been confirmed.

 

Extensive damage also took place in the city of Colonial Heights where another tornado was spotted. The storms left 18 injured in the city with three of those taken to hospitals.

 

Brunswick County was hit hard as well as several homes were flattened and power lines and trees were felled by what was believed to be another tornado.
