D.C. Madam Commits Suicide

The 52-year old woman known as the “D.C. Madam” committed suicide Thursday morning at the Tampa home of her mother.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey was found dead in a small storage shed located off her mother’s home in a trailer park near Tarpon Springs, Florida.

According to a public information officer with the Tarpon Springs Police Department, “There’s no question that it was a suicide.”

While police have declined to give details of Palfrey’s death, Capt. Jeffrey P. Young stated, “Handwritten notes were found on scene that describe the victim’s intention to take her life, and foul play does not appear to be involved.”

After her April 15th conviction on charges linked to her running a prostitution ring, Palfrey threatened to reveal the names of clients suspected to be high-profile political and business leaders.

FBI investigators are working with the Pinellas County coronor to determine a cause of death.
