Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are officially married, according to reports Friday. A relative of Cannon's confirmed the marriage on E! News.
"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it. ... If that is what he wants then we are happy for him," Linda Cannon said. "I'm not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him.
Carey, 38, and Cannon, 27, got married on Wednesday.
On Thursday, a source close to Cannon confirmed to Latina.com that the couple were wed in a ceremony in the Bahamas.
Cannon purchased the ring from Jacob the Jeweler's Jacob & Co. jewelry store, for which he worked closely to make the one-of-a-kind ring.
The ring is crafted from platinum and features a square emerald cut fancy light pink diamond. The center stone alone weighs 10 carats, and the total carat weight of the ring is 17 carats. It is valued at $2.5 million.
Cannon was who has previously linked to singer Christina Milian and socialite Kim Kardashian. Last year, Cannon was engaged to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks. However, after a few months, Ebanks and Cannon broke up.
This is Cannon's first marriage, but Carey's second. Carey was married to Tommy Mottola, whom she married in 1993. They separated in 1997 and were divorced a year later.
