Matt Lauer Features Praslin, Seychelles Islands on Today Show Friday

Matt Lauer featured Praslin, one of the Seychelles Islands, on his "Where in the World is Matt Lauer" segment on the Today Show Friday.

Praslin, one of the 115 islands of the Republic of Seychelles, is located in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Seychelles is located about 1,000 miles east of Kenya.

According to reports, the best time to vacation in Seychelles is April and October. The rain season goes from mid-November until mid-February. However, due to its location, the island sees 12 hours of daylight each day year-round.

About 81,000 people live in Seychelles, most of which reside on the main and largest island of Mahé. Praslin is the second most populous, with about 6,500 residents.

It is difficult to find a map of Praslin, because of its location and size. However, the Seychelles Islands are one of the top vacation destinations in Africa, known for its beautiful beaches and fine resorts. They host some of Africa's most expensive villas as well.
