According to the Wall Street Journal, Avis Budget Group Inc should top rival Hertz Global Holdings Inc's (HTZ.N) $1.2 billion bid for Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc.

The report also stated that Avis will take on more debt to finance the deal and will present an offer in late July or early August.

CommVault Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CVLT) plunged 23.50% to $17.97 on very high volume after the company alerted that its Q1 results will fall short of Street forecasts.

The data storage software company expects Q1 revenue of $66.3 million; lower than the Street expectations of $71.6 million. The company’s estimate would be up 10% from a year, but down 10% sequentially.

The company expects $28.3 million in software revenue and $38 million in services revenue.

Non-GAAP EPS is expects to be about 11 cents per share, far below the Street consensus at 17 cents.

Knoll, Inc. (NYSE:KNL) jumped 6.70% to $13.06 after analyst Matthew McCall at BB&T Capital Markets upgraded the stock rating “buy” from “hold” and set a 12-Month price target of $17.00.

Knoll, Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of workplace furnishings, textiles and fine leathers. It offers a portfolio of office furniture, textiles and leathers across five product categories.
