Starr Tincup Places 5th in Small Business Category, 6th Overall in the Dallas Business Journal's Best Places to Work for 2008

Starr Tincup, the leading marketing firm for human capital software and services companies, was selected 5th in the Small Business Category at the Awards Luncheon for the Dallas Business Journal’sBest Places to Work” honors for 2008. Starr Tincup was also selected 6th overall in the field of 60 companies selected as award winners.

The awards luncheon was held May 1 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown Dallas. While a record number of 270 companies qualified for the “Best Places to Work” project this year, only 60 companies were selected as award winners. Starr Tincup was one of the 25 honorees in the small business category.

“The humble, politically correct thing to say would be that we are flattered to receive this honor and all of that stuff,” said J. William Tincup, principal and co-founder of Starr Tincup. “But we aren’t going to lie—our employees deserved this honor. Their efforts make Starr Tincup the best human capital marketing firm on the planet and they deserve this recognition.”

A spot on Dallas Business Journal’s annual list of best places to work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has become the most sought-after, high-profile business award in Texas. Starr Tincup was selected to the list of finalists because of its high scores on an employee survey administered by the Dallas Business Journal and an independent research firm, Quantum Market Research (QMR). Winning this award speaks volumes about the exceptional quality of the people, the benefits, the unique work culture and the perks that the company offers.

“Muhammad Ali said once that there are better things to do than beat up people,” said Bret Starr, principal and co-founder of Starr Tincup. “We don’t feel it’s our place to argue with the man who beat Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Sonny Liston. We agree, and that’s why William and I have tried to build a company where our people are free to achieve greatness.”
