A 12-year-old Ridgefield, Connecticut boy ended an impressive streak late last month when he decided to retire his Brett Favre jersey after wearing it for 1,581 days.
David Witthoft had worn the Favre No. 4 jersey every day since receiving the item as a Christmas gift in 2003 and gained notoriety as the “iron-man” of loyalty as he continued his streak through growth spurts and obvious wear and tear.
Witthoft opted to end the Favre streak on his 12th birthday after the jersey barely came down to his belt.
Witthoft is planning to attend the Green Bay Packers game on Sept.8, the day the team retires Favre’s No. 4 jersey.
