Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton Inspire Massive Voter Turnouts in Indiana and North Carolina

Barack Obama supporters believe a win in Indiana and a win in North Carolina could finally be the knockout blow needed to end the Hillary Clinton campaign. On the other hand Clinton supporters have cited a surge in their candidate’s campaign and believe she could capture Indiana and compete in N.C. and have already suggested she would be heading to West Virginia after Tuesday.

The two scenarios have inspired a huge voter turnout for the Indiana and North Carolina primaries as both Democratic candidates have encouraged their supporters to get out and vote.

The moment polls opened in Indiana many stations quickly developed lines that stretched out the door. It is that enthusiasm that Clinton hopes will carry over into North Carolina. While the New York senator is expected to take the Hoosier State she will need a strong surge of voter in North Carolina to top Obama.

Of course neither candidate could end the chase for the Democratic nomination on Tuesday as a candidate needs to secure 2,025 delegates to win. Obama currently leads in the delegate count with 1,745.5 while Clinton has 1,608. There are 72 delegates at stake in Indiana while North Carolina has 115 delegates.
