Lord Our Righteousness Church Leader Arrested on Sex Charges

Bent was arrested at the church compound near the Colorado line where he and his followers live. Authorities would not confirm that his arrested was related to the recent removal of three minor children from the ranch.

The 66-year-old, who goes by the name Michael Travesser, was charged with three counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Bent has admitted to having sex with many of his followers, including his daughter-in-law. He also said he lay naked with virgins but refused to have sex with them when they asked.

A posting on the church’s web site said Bent was arrested on “false charges.” The posting also denied that children were molested. He is currently being held in the Union County Detention Center.
