3-year Old Abandoned at Hospital as Parents Drive Away

A 3-year old girl was dropped off at a Missouri hospital by her parents who were caught on videotape driving away.

After the child tried to follow her parents back to the car, the girl’s pregnant 23-year old mother, India Dale, took her back inside the hospital then ran to the waiting vehicle.

Police say Dale’s boyfriend, Terry Stringer, 25, returned to the hospital an hour later and demanded “his baby.” Dale and Stringer were arrested.

Missouri’s Safe Haven law allows parents to drop off newborns at a hospital without recrimination. The law does not apply to 3-year-olds.
