A 2-year-old California girl playing in her front yard was attacked by a coyote, the animal grabbing her by the head and attempting to drag her towards the street.
The young girl’s mother, Melissa Rowley, had stepped inside to put away a camera and when she came back outside she saw the coyote dragging her daughter. She charged at the coyote who then released its grip on the girl and fled.
Rowley rushed her daughter to a nearby hospital in San Bernardino and the child had several puncture wounds to her head and neck as well as cuts to her mouth.
This was the third attack on a child by a coyote in Southern California over the past five days.
