American Idol Reject Colin Leahy Arrested For Sexual Texts to Student

New York police say an American Idol reject has been arrested for sending sexually explicit text messages to a 10-year-old boy. Colin Leahy, 23, was volunteering at the Brooklyn school P.S. 236 but has been banned from working in any city schools following the investigation.

Police say Leahy sent sexual text messages to a 10-year-old boy and made inappropriate comments to another 10-year-old boy, who he also took to a movie theater at least twice. Leahy also asked the boys about sex acts and questioned them about their sexuality.

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Leahy tried out and was rejected for the third season of American Idol.
