Drone Attack Kills at least Seven Suspected Militants in North Waziristan

A drone attack launched in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal region has killed at least seven suspected militants.

The suspected militants had been staying in a compound believed to be used by Islamist fighters when at least two separate missiles struck. While security officials have said the fatalities were all militants there have been reports from tribal elders who have said several civilians were also killed in the strikes.

There have been reports that as many as 14 militants were killed in the attack and those reports suggested the compound was hit by three missiles.

Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants continue to take refuge in North Waziristan, making it a popular target for drone attacks by international forces.
