Tina Turner To Return, Announces 2008 Tour Dates

Tina Turner announced Thursday that she will go on tour for the first time in eight years.

Turner, the 68-year-old Grammy-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will begin a North American tour with a concert in Kansas City on Oct. 1.

"After performing with Beyoncé at the Grammy Awards, the response was overwhelming," Turner said in a statement. "Everywhere I went people were asking me when I was going back on tour. So after a lot of thought and planning, I can answer the only way I know how: See you in Kansas City, where we’ll kick the tour off!"

In Turner's personal life, her longtime boyfriend is German music executive Erwin Bach. She and Bach live together in Küsnacht, Zürich, Switzerland, and Nice, France.

Turner and Cher will be featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show in an interview together for the first time ever. Both Turner and Cher describe their relationships with men 20 years their junior. Turner spoke about Bach, while Cher talked about her relationship with Tom Cruise, which happened years ago.

Turner announced on the show that she was going to come back to touring.
