A tornado struck Greensboro, NC on Thursday night, leaving one man dead and injured three others.
The tornado reportedly touched down in the outskirts of Greensboro. The tornado was amongst the rash of severe storms that swept the Southeast, hitting at least three states.
One person was killed in a small truck that overturned in a parking lot in Greensboro. Three others were injured, one when the storm knocked down a wall at a distributing business. Several tractor-trailers were overturned on Interstate 40, according to news outlets in Greensboro.
The tornado comes as a surprise to Greensboro residents due to normal weather patterns. Tornadoes are not very common in the North Carolina city.
Homes and power lines were damaged in Forsyth and Clemmons Counties, NC.
Tornadoes hit Alabama, Tennessee and the Mississippi town of Tupelo. A rash of tornadoes have also hit the state of Arkansas, destroying homes and wreaking havoc.
