Canadian Passenger Train Quarantined After Woman Dies on Board

One woman died and at least 10 others were sickened aboard a Canadian passenger train that was placed under quarantine Friday.

According to authorities, an undetermined illness appears to have been contained to two cars on the train which was en route from Vancouver to Toronto.

Police stopped the train about 500 miles northwest of Toronto in the town of Foleyet, where at least one person was airlifted to a local hospital.

Until the cause of the outbreak is not been determined, no one is being allowed on board without protective gear and passengers are restricted from leaving the train.

The train was said to be carrying 230 passengers and 30 crew members.

Unconfirmed reports indicated the woman who died exhibited flu-like symptoms when she boarded the train in Jasper, Alberta. Other members of her tourist group had similar but not severe flu-like symptoms.
