Orlando Magic Sign J.J. Redick after Matching Deal Offered by Chicago Bulls

J.J. Redick will be staying in Orlando after the Magic matched the Chicago Bulls offer to the guard, giving the former first-rounder a three-year deal worth $19 million.

While Redick got off to a slow start in the NBA following the 2006 NBA Draft he developed into a key piece of the Magic puzzle last season, often coming off the bench as a legitimate offensive threat. He averaged 9.6 points per game and that could go up significantly next year as Orlando plans to use him more.

Along with his scoring capabilities Redick has developed into one of Orlando’s better passers and has concentrated on improving his defense.
