Man Jailed After Daughter Fails GED

Brian Gegner will spend the next 180 days in jail after his 18 year old daughter failed the math section of her GED.  He is being jailed for his failure to keep track of his daughter’s education.

The daughter, Brittany Gegner lived with her mother, even though her father had custody of her.  Both daughter and mother claim that if anyone was to go to jail, Brian should be the last on the list.  Brittany states that “It’s ridiculously wrong.”

Although Brittany is now an adult, the court is upholding a court order issued two years ago when Brittany was still a juvenile.

The father also faced the possibility of losing his job of 15 years due to his jail sentence.
