The Cipriano family, whose 8 year old little girl went missing just seven miles from the Portuguese resort where Madeleine McCann was abducted, believes the two cases are linked. They are now urging detectives to investigate the links between the two disappearances.
8 year old Joana Cipriano disappeared on September 12, 2004 after she was sent to a village store for some groceries in Figueira. The young girl bought a can of tuna and milk. She was last seen by a neighbor near the village church, about 200 yards from her home.
Leonor Cipriano has launched a campaign to find her daughter, much like the McCanns. Leonor and her brother Joao have also become suspects.
