A 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit China on Monday destroying buildings, damaging roads and killing thousands. Authorities say nearly 8,700 people have been killed by the powerful quake.
The earthquake struck near Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. Authorities say a high school collapsed and hundreds of students are believed to be still buried in the rubble.
Officials expect the death toll to rise as bodies are still being pulled from the remains of homes, businesses and factories.
