Bob Barr, a former Republican U.S. Representative, announced Monday that he is running for president under the Libertarian party.
Barr was a U.S. Representative for Georgia from 1995-2003 and was one of the leaders of the impeachment of Democratic President Bill Clinton.
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), a Republican who is very close to Libertarian, has not formally withdrawn from the race.
Barr is expected to take votes away from Sen. John McCain (R-TX).
