Going on vacation?
I hope so, because oddly enough a vacation is a great time to make hands free cash for your business using your Automatic Responder. I'm going to outline a great way to use your automatic responder to drive sales for you while you're off enjoying an ocean breeze or taking in an exotic festival:
Automatic Responder Vacation Strategy:
First, you'll want to think up a good "sale" or promotion that you can run for a week or two. You want to be able to schedule all your emails into your automatic responder so they go out automatically while you're away, so a little prior planning goes a long way.
Next, you'll need to make sure that all the pages, emails, and links you need are ready to go, so you can simply copy and paste your emails into your automatic responder and schedule them in to send out while you're gone...
Finally, you'll want to make sure that you've got customer support available while you're away, and if you usually do all your own support, you can easily outsource your support to a help desk for while you're gone.
The only thing left to do is to think about how you can tie your vacation into your promotion. You might even level with your prospects, and tell them that you've scheduled a special "Vacation Promotion" into your automatic responder for while you're soaking up the sun and hatching plans for a new product or service...
Whatever email series you decide to load up in your automatic responder, make sure you don't completely unplug while you're on vacation. I hate to be the guy who tells you not to relax on vacation, but plan on putting in at least a half hour per day to check in with your automatic responder series and evaluate the effectiveness of the promotion.
Worst case scenario, you'll notice that the automatic responder emails you queued up to be sent aren't working as well as you'd hoped, or that your promotion as a whole is bombing. That will let you know that you need to take a day to straighten things out before you soak up any more sun.
Best case scenario, you watch every day as your vacation is paid for plus some by your automatic responder series...
