Anworth Mortgage Asset Corporation, incorporated on October 20, 1997, is engaged in the business of investing in United States agency and other single-family, adjustable-rate, fixed-rate, mortgage-backed securities and residential mortgage loans that it acquires in the secondary market.

The Company seeks long-term investment returns by investing its equity capital and borrowed funds in such securities and other mortgage-related assets. The returns are earned on the spread between the yield on its interest-earning assets and the interest cost of the funds it borrows. As of December 31, 2007, the Company’s portfolio consisted of Agency mortgage-backed securities (Agency MBS) and Non-Agency mortgage-backed securities (Non-Agency MBS).
