Okay first we should clear the air about Infusionsoft here...
If you've Googled "Infusionsoft" you've probably seen some trash talking going on. A while back some frustrated developers discovered that Infusionsoft's API was well... let's be diplomatic and say: "challenging"
But if you're in direct response marketing and you want a ESP / CRM solution, you'll be hard pressed to find anything else in the same ballpark of awesomeness as Infusionsoft.. In fact, it's not just awesome, it's even "high-five worthy" for three extremely good reasons:
The first reason you should give the dudes at Infusionsoft a high-five is for making it possible to send highly targeted, relevant emails to segments of your list. Now, practically every Marketing Guru on the Seminar circuit has been barking up this tree for the past 4 years or so, but Infusionsoft went ahead and actually built their CRM into their software so you've got a place to actually DO it. Okay - so the CRM is gathering all this great data for you about your customers. It's tracking when they open your emails, how they respond to surveys and quizzes, wwhen they've called your support line, what they've bought, the list goes on and on...
So all of a sudden you've got that coveted data on hand to segment and target your promotions at relevant prospects... but that's where I start to get a little anxious... and if you're like me then the hair on the back of your neck is prickling up just thinking about all the extra hours you'll spend plugged into Infusionsoft every day to keep up with all those segments and market to your audience best... Let those hackles down friend. Relax...
Infusionsoft's ninja codesmiths had the foresight to automate things for us. (As they rightly should). But the crowning achievement of Infusionsoft is the third (and IMHO best) reason to give those love-able Infusionsoft geeks a meaningful high-five:
Automated. Multimedia. Marketing.
Imagine having an autoresponder that also sent out targeted direct mail, postcards, voice messages and faxes... That's Infusionsoft at it's best. What if you were able to immediately fax anyone who entered their fax # with a special promo for fax owners only... (okay, sorta kidding there but I bet that would actually work :-)
The point is, you can take your online business and go offline without having to orchestrate a complicated offline marketing promotion. Infusionsoft handles the grunt work in the background, making offline advertising a heck of a lot more realistic all of a sudden.
