Learning Has No Boundaries at Academic Summer Camp

Among academic summer camps, SuperCamp is unique for many reasons, but one aspect of the summer camp program that truly sets it apart is its international appeal. As a case in point, the summer enrichment program expects to enroll students from over 35 different countries this year.

“We already have enrollments from 31 countries,” said Bobbi DePorter, president of SuperCamp and Quantum Learning Network. “To me this is a reflection that learning has no boundaries and that what we provide students with learning and life skills that are universal.”

As further support, Ms. DePorter cites the fact that over 1,700 students will attend SuperCamp programs in 2008 held on foreign soil. SuperCamp’s academic summer camps now operated in Asia, Latin American and Europe. As with its U.S.-based program, SuperCamp offers both youth and teen summer camps internationally.

There are a number of factors about SuperCamp that make the learning environment uniquely effective and applicable to a broad age, demographic and geographic range of students. It begins with SuperCamp’s proprietary Quantum Learning method of teaching and learning developed over 25 years ago by Ms. DePorter. At the heart of this method is that students learn how to learn, which means the retention of what they learn at SuperCamp is long-term.

There are a number of other contributing factors to SuperCamp’s success. It provides peer support that reinforces efforts, achievements and positive attitudes. It helps improve communication, listening and peer relationship skills. It uncovers and teaches to individual learning styles. It encourages goal setting and taking responsibility for one's actions. It enhances the capability for problem-solving and creative thinking. And it ensures a challenging, safe program that is intellectual, physical, creative and fun.
