Pearl Jam Finishes US Tour in Mansfield Massachusetts June 30

Pearl Jam will be performing live at the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Monday, June 30 at 7:30 pm.  This will be their last performance for their US tour.

Formed in 1990, in Seattle, Washington, Pearl Jam’s original lineup included guitarist and lead vocalist Eddie Vedder, bassis Jeff Ament, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard and lead guitarist Mike McCready.  The current drummer for the band is formerly from Soundgarden and has been with Pearl Jam since 1998.

The band was created after the breakup of Ament and Gossard’s previous band, Mother Love Bone, and went on to break into mainstream music with its debut album, Ten.  It is noted as one of the key bands of the grunge movement in the early 1990’s, despite criticism that the band was just another corporate cash-in on the alternative rock explosion.  The band was later noted for their unusual practices including their refusal to make music videos and publicly boycotting Ticketmaster.  It seemed that the band “spent much of the past decade deliberately tearing apart their own fame,” according to Brian Hiatt of the Rolling Stone.
