Rocket Attack in Ashkelon Wounds 14; Islamic Jihad Claims Responsibility

As U.S. President Georga Bush met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Wednesday, a Palestinian terror group launched a Grad rocket into a crowded shopping mall in Ashkelon.

Three people were seriously wounded after being trapped in the rubble, while others, including a baby girl, were taken to a local hospital.

Military officials are investigating reports that alert sirens did not sound prior to the bombing.

The Islamic Jihad has claimed responsibility for the long-range missile attack, which was launched from the town of Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
