Austrian Man Kills 5 Members of His Family with Axe

An Austrian man admitted to authorities that he used an axe to kill first his wife and child, then his parents and father-in-law.

Identified only as a 39-year old public relations consultant, the man walked into a Vienna police station to confess to the murders.

Police found the body of his wife and 7-year-old daughter at their home in Vienna. The man’s parents were killed at their home in Ansfelden. He killed his wife’s father in Linz.

Authorities described the man as “confused” and said he confessed his crimes completely without emotion. He reportedly killed his family because of he had “massive money problems” and wanted to spare them any shame.
