Monterey is a charming old seaport along the northern end of the central coast. About halfway down the central coast lies the town of San Simeon, most well-known for the Hearst Castle. Casa Grande, the largest one, has an area of over 60,000 square feet. The property also includes a huge swimming pool and a 50-seat theater.
On the southern end of the central coast, about 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles, lies Santa Barbara, a beautiful city of about 100,000 people. Santa Barbara boast the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) as well as the Santa Barbara Mission, the Presidio, the Museum of Art, the Lobero Theatre, and the Pasa Nuevo shopping center.
