New Kids on the Block to Perform Live at Tweeter Center for Performing Arts in Mansfield May 18

The New Kids on the Block will be performing live in concert at the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts in Mansfield, Massachusetts on Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 pm.  The group will then move on to East Rutherford, New Jersey where they will perform at the IZOD Center (formerly Continental Arena) on September 23.

1980’s boyband, the New Kids on the Block gained recognition in the early 1990’s.  The group was formed by Maurice Starr in 1984, which included Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood.  Having sold over 70 million albums worldwide ,the boy band earned millions in concert revenues, preceding popular boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys, Take That and *NSync.

Following a breakup in 1994, the group reunited in April 2008 and will be touring throughout the United States this fall in promotion of their new album, Summertime.  According to Donnie Wahlberg, 80% of the album was written by himself, Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre.
