Barack Obama Apologizes for Calling Reporter “Sweetie”

Barack Obama apologized to a Michigan TV reporter on Wednesday after he inadvertently called her “sweetie” after she asked a question.

Obama had been touring a Chrysler LLC plant in Michigan when Peggy Agar asked him what his plans were “to help American autoworkers.” The Democratic presidential candidate replied, “Hold on one second, sweetie” and avoided the question. Obama did tell her he would be answering questions at a later time.

Obama called Agar later that day and apologized to her for calling her “sweetie” and told her” I mean no disrespect.”
