Coldplay to Perform Live at Verizon Center in Washington July 2

Coldplay will be playing at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC on Wednesday, July 2 at 7:30 pm.  The band will play next at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut the following evening.

 

English rock band, Coldplay is comprised of vocalist/pianist/guitarist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer/mulit-instrumentalist Will Champion.  Formed in London in 1998, the group has sold over 30 million albums and is considered one of the must commercially successful acts of the new millennium.  Notable Coldplay songs includes, “Yellow,” “Speed of Sound” and Grammy Award winner “Clocks.”

Coldplay became a worldwide hit with the release of “Yellow” preceding the release of their debut album Parachutes (2000) which was later nominated for the Mercury Prize.  A Rush of Blood to the Head was released in 2002 and later named the NME Album of the Year.  X&Y was released in 2005 and the band has been working with Brian Eno on their fourth studio album since December 2006.  The album is titled Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.  It will be released in June 2008.
