A woman who was held hostage for eight years in the dungeon of a ‘house of horrors’ has now purchased the house.
20-year old Natascha Kampusch, who was ten when she was kidnapped by Wolfgang Priklopil, said she wanted to keep the house from being vandalized or torn down.
Priklopil killed himself following the girl’s dramatic escape from her dungeon prison in 2006.
In explaining why she returned to the house, Kampusch said, “Nothing is as threatening as it was back then. But at the same time, it’s still a house of horrors for me.”
She is expected to testify at the civil court trial of her mother, Brigitta Sirny, who was named as an accomplice in her daughter’s kidnapping.
