New Kids on the Block Back on Tour to Play at IZOD Center in New Jersey September 23

The New Kids on the Block are making a comeback touring through the US.  The group will be performing at the former Continental Arena, the IZOD Center, in East Rutherford, New Jersey as part of their tour on Tuesday, September 23 at 8:00 pm.  The group will then perform at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on September 24.

1980’s boyband, the New Kids on the Block gained recognition in the early 1990’s.  The group was formed by Maurice Starr in 1984, which included Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood.  Having sold over 70 million albums worldwide ,the boy band earned millions in concert revenues, preceding popular boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys, Take That and *NSync.

Following a breakup in 1994, the group reunited in April 2008 and will be touring throughout the United States this fall in promotion of their new album, Summertime.  According to Donnie Wahlberg, 80% of the album was written by himself, Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre.
