Britney Spears and Mel Gibson left Thursday morning from Burbank's Bob Hope Airport on a flight to Costa Rica, according to Access Hollywood.
Spears and Gibson who will be accompanied by Spears' father and Gibson's wife.
According to a report in People Magazine, a source said the two are "just going away for a few days to relax." It is believed that Spears, 26, and Gibson, 51 will be staying at Gibson's home in Costa Rica.
Spears and Gibson were seen having dinner together in March at the Russian restaurant, Romanov, in Studio City, CA.
The two used to be neighbors in Malibu.
Aside from her court cases with ex-husband Kevin Federline over their children, Spears has been in the news lately for several reasons. She recently got into another car crash after she ran a red light, hitting a red Ford Explorer sports utility vehicle (SUV) in front.
Spears also has been supportive of her sister Jamie-Lynn through her pregnancy. Jamie-Lynn, 16, made national attention for being pregnant, causing a lot of controversy for being so young.
