Michael Jordan Comments on Lebron's Decision
6-time NBA Finals MVP Reflects on Past
Ever since 2-time NBA MVP LeBron James announced his decision to join Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in the Miami Heat, it seems that everyone has an opinion. Some are still lamenting the fact that he is leaving Cleveland, while others are suggesting that James' winning a Finals title in Miami, if it happens, will never be as sweet as it would have been in Cleveland. Michael Jordan, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, recently gave his opinion on LeBron's decision. "There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry [Bird], called up Magic [Johnson] and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team,'" Jordan said. "But that's ... things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys." Charles Barkley, also an NBA great, had this to say: "Mike and I are in 100 percent agreement on this. If you're the two-time defending NBA MVP, you don't leave anywhere. They come to you. That's ridiculous. I like LeBron. He's a great player. But I don't think in the history of sports you can find a two-time defending MVP leaving to go play with other people."
