Serena Williams Injured at Restaurant

Top Women's Player to Miss Tournaments

Serena Williams, who is currently the top-ranked women's tennis player in both singles and doubles, cut her foot on a piece of broken glass at a restaurant. Williams will undergo surgery for the injury and will miss three upcoming tournaments leading up to the U.S. Open. Serena is quoted on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour website as saying, ""I'm so upset I won't be able to play in the upcoming events because of this foot surgery. Thank you for all of your support. I can't wait to get back on the courts." (Sources: ESPN.com)
