An oval blue diamond became the priciest gem ever to be sold at auction Thursday night after it fetched an amazing $1.33 million per carat at a Sotheby’s auction in Geneva.
The3.7-carat diamond ring sold for about $5 million to London jeweler Laurence Graff, known as the “King of Diamonds.”
Thursday’s auction at Geneva’s Beau Rivage hotel fetched a total of $57.1 million and included a collection of jewels belonging to the widow of Globo-media mogul Roberto Marinho.
