Giant's starter Barry Zito probably has had the roughest season of any starting pitcher in the league and he continues to walk around winless. This is hard to believe based on his many successful seasons as the ace in Oakland. Zito has yet to find a grove as a pitcher in the NL which as surprised many because the NL is looked on as a weaker hitting league. Zito will be the first to say that it's not.
The task won't be easy as he will be facing a good hitting Sox team that has been struggling lately but if you are not on your game usually they can hurt you. Zito is He has an 8-2 record with a 3.22 ERA against them in 12 starts against the Sox in his career. Zito has had some good recent starts but they have not been great. He has yet to really become an innings eater for the Giants and their bullpen works a lot when he starts.
The time may be now for Zito to make his stance on the season and get into the win column because his stuff is much better than a 0-7 pitcher. The interesting thing here is if Zito continues to lose and the Giants leave him in the rotation if 20 losses may be in his future. With the way his luck has gain so far this year, that wouldn't be impossible.
