Royals Striving Towards Royalty

The Royals are back to playing good baseball as they were earlier in the season and have made their way to just one game under .500 with their win on Friday night against the Florida Marlins. Brian Bannister will get the start in today for them in hopes of getting them to the .500 mark and showing that they are real contenders in the wide open AL central race. The Royals have been hitting, pitching, and playing good defense in recent games and that’s why they have played so well.

Young star Alex Gordon has started to come into his own this year and doing a much better job than he did in his rookie season. The Royal's have to be proud of the way their pitching has performed the most. The bullpen has been excellent with Soria as the closer and hard throwing Nunez and lefty specialist Mahay have done. The starting pitching also been better than expected with talented pitcher Zack Greinke and Brian Bannister doing a good job. Gil Meche is starting to turn things around and if he pitches the way he did last season, he will be in for a lot more wins.

The AL Central should be very scared because the Royals may just be the team that sneaks up to grab the grown but even if they don't, the scared of it would be worth it.
